Fife Council is responsible for eleven of the many harbours and piers along Fife's coastline:

Fife Council own and control 11 harbours along the 180km Fife Coastline.  We maintain and manage Fife Council's harbours and piers, reporting to the Harbour Users Group at an annual meeting.  Minutes are published on this website and can be found below and on the publications page. These harbours are predominantly leisure use with Pittenweem continuing to be almost exclusively a commercial harbour.  These harbours are managed by the Flooding, Shoreline and Harbours Team with Harbour Masters based at Crail, St Monans, Anstruther and Pittenweem.  The harbours are governed by various pieces of Marine related legislation and the current Harbour By laws. A copy of these bylaws can be found at the bottom of this page and on the publications page.

For information on fees, navigation, berthing, registering your craft or any other enquiries relating to faciliites please contact the relevant Harbourmaster. You can do this by selecting the relevant harbour/pier or by using the 'find my nearest' search tool on this page.

We maintain and manage Fife Council's harbours and piers, reporting to the Harbour Users Group at an annual meeting with regular updates throughout the year. The group consists of local Councillors, harbour representatives from both leisure and commercial, Harbour Masters and officers from Structural Services.

Throughout the year there are various festivals held in our harbours as well as short term and season pitches available on a first come, first served basis.  To apply for use of a harbour area for festivals, season pitches or similair uses, please complete the application form attached to the bottom of this page.  Please note that this application should be completed fully and returned to Fife Council a MINIMUM of 6WEEKS prior to the event. This ensures adequate time to prepare legal agreements and full check of relevant insurances and other required documentation.

The email contact details for the Funding and Monitoring Manager who will be able to advise groups on the grant options available can be found here
