FIRST AID (EMERGENCY)

The course is suitable for people whose place of employment requires an appointed person's first-aider. The course will enable students to give basic first aid to a casualty that requires assistance for a limited range of emergency situations.

The Emergency First Aid course is a 6-hour course, with a tutor based competence assessment at the end of the course. All persons passing the course will receive an Emergency First Aid certificate valid for 3 years. At the end of the course candidates will have knowledge of the following:

What to do in an emergency

- Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation

- First aid for the unconscious casualty

- First aid for the wounded or bleeding

- First aid equipment

- Employers risk assessment of first aid needs box.
