First Aid (Paediatric)

The course meets the Approved Code of Practice's requirement for 'Appointed Persons' in most nursery, playgroup and after-school club settings.

The Paediatric First Aid course is a 6 hour course, with a tutor based competence assessment at the end of the course. All persons passing the course will receive a Paediatric First Aid certificate valid for 3 years. At the end of the course candidates will have knowledge of the following:-
- Resuscitation

- Choking

- Bleeding and shock

- Burns and scalds

- Child related conditions (asthma, croup,
anaphylactic shock etc)

- Epileptic fits

- Fractures

- What should be in a comprehensive first aid
box.
